Design with Contours workshop

Design with Contours workshop was organized for the students of 4th semester, for their ongoing design exercise on ‘Resort Design on Sloping Site’ on 5th June, 2023. The guest for the workshop was Ar. Sheikh Intekhab Alam, Principal Architect at Emara Architecture & Urbanism, who had wide experience in designing on Contoured sites of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Ladakh.

The workshop began with a lecture on designing with nature, respecting the site and its topography. Various strategies were discussed that can be adopted for sloping sites. The lecture was followed by hands-on workshop session in studios where students were given live exercises to analyze and synthesize sites.
