Join the Lime Workshop 2026: Preserving Heritage Through Traditional Craftsmanship

The Faculty of Architecture and Planning (FAP), AKTU Lucknow, in collaboration with the INTACH Lime Training and Research Centre, Lucknow, is pleased to announce a week-long Lime Workshop from 19th to 25th June 2026.

This unique workshop is designed for students and aspiring conservation professionals who wish to explore the traditional art and science of lime-based construction and heritage conservation. As historic buildings across India continue to require sensitive restoration, understanding traditional materials such as lime has become increasingly important for architects, planners, engineers, and conservation practitioners.

Participants will gain hands-on experience in preparing and working with lime mortars, learning directly from experts in the field. The workshop will cover every stage of the process—from material preparation and mixing to application techniques, surface finishes, and laboratory testing. Through practical demonstrations and interactive sessions, attendees will develop a deeper appreciation for traditional building technologies and their role in conserving our architectural heritage.
